Well I am finally doing a little bit better. I have been suffering from a bad case of mono, and resulting in a swollen speen, which has been closely followed! Finally today I was given good news, as the swelling, for the first time in a week has gone down!
Today I had an interesting conversation with Dean, and was left with a thought about "Facing the consequences...". that Oh so wonderful "Tough Love" concept. bI began to realize something, this whole notion of "Tough Love" has just gone too far in out society, and it has fueled Politically Correctness, or this whole notion of not doing anything to piss anyone else off.
It is my opinion that what holds us back now days isn't necessarily that we don't know what to do, its the fact that we have become so politically correct as a sciety that we are afraid to take risks because we worry about what will happen if we do, and what people will think! We worry that we will look silly, or worse yet, that people will THINK we are silly! We are worried we might piss someone off, and make enemies, and lord knows we don't want to have any enemies. I remember reading some famous quaote as a kid that said "If you are pissing people off you aren't doing it right!" People hate change, so you do anything that creates change you will piss someone off!
We are also very worried, as a society about how we look, how we appear. What if our idea doesn't work right, or doesn't work the way I thought. Better to never try than to try and look silly!
It is my opinion that people that make a difference are those that understand that taking an action may causde a nd equal and opposing reaction - but who take action anyways!
Good isdeas, and change always come at a cost!
